Purchasing Officer

This varied role will see you manage the overall purchasing functions for best price and quality while maintaining high levels of production.

About the Role:
  
Our client is a family started building business, building premium modular homes since the 1990’s. They build and design lifestyle homes up and down the south and central coast of NSW. As a modular construction company that prides themselves on the high-quality finishes of their homes, they require high quality staff.
This is a unique opportunity for a proactive person who is comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a valued team member, you will be responsible for the overall project related purchasing functions of the modular homes for factory and site production.
  
The role also involves ensuring the best possible option for price and quality when purchasing supply of materials, labour and trades.

Duties:

  • Purchasing of job specific materials and trades
  • Evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and preparing reports on orders and costs
  • Obtaining, evaluating, comparing and approving supplier and subcontractor quotes
  • Enter and manage all purchase orders and associated records into Builder Trend in line with project budget
  • Prepare job purchasing off client selections information
  • Manage supplier and trade account queries, invoice corrections and approvals 

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated understanding of purchasing functions – construction industry highly regarded
  • Demonstrated understanding of purchasing against a set budget
  • Excellent written and oral skills required for scope writing
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite and ideally construction management programs
  • Team player with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management
